what we believe

statement of faith

We Believe...

We believe there is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe God the Father is eternal, omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent.
God is pure, holy, righteous, and just. His love and mercy were ultimately manifested in the atoning death of His Son, Jesus, on Calvary.

  • John 17:1-26

  • 1 John 4:9

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life,
His miracles, His vicarious suffering and atoning death, His bodily resurrection,
His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power
and glory.

  • Luke 1:31

  • Isaiah 7:14, 9:6-7, 53:9

  • 1 Peter 2:21-22

  • John 20:30-31

  • Romans 3:23-25

  • Luke 24

  • Mark 16:19

  • Daniel 7:13-14

  • Matthew 24:30

We believe the Holy Spirit is a person. He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, and is the supernatural agent of God in the regeneration of the lost. He indwells all believers and seals them in the body of Christ until the day of redemption. He is the divine teacher who guides believers into all truth, and He imparts gifts for ministry to the body of Christ.

  • John 16:7-11

  • Hebrews 10:15-8

  • Romans 8:11

  • 1 Corinthians 3:16

  • Ephesians 4:30

  • Romans 8:23

  • John 14:16-17, 26

  • 1 Corinthians 12

We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testament are inspired by God, inerrant and infallible in their original writings, and the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17

  • Hebrews 4:12

  • 2 Peter 1:20-21

We believe every man and woman has been separated from God. No one can be reconciled with God unless that person is born again by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Romans 1:18-32, 3:19

  • John 3:3-8

  • Romans 10:9-10

We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace through faith, without reference to human works. Salvation is received through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Saving faith is manifested by endurance and works that are pleasing to God.

  • Ephesians 2:8-10

We believe heaven is the hope and home of the saved for eternity, and hell is a literal place of torment and separation from God for those who are unsaved.

  • Colossians 1:5

  • 2 Peter 3:13

  • Revelation 21:1-5

  • Revelation 20:10-15

We believe Satan is the author of sin and he shall be punished eternally in the lake of fire, which is reserved for the devil, his angels and “those whose names are not written in the Book of Life.”

  • Revelation 20

We believe the body of Christ is composed of all born-again believers everywhere without respect to race, gender or denomination. The local church is the assembly of born-again believers who come together for like-minded worship, instruction and Christian service.

  • 1 Corinthians 12:13-27

  • Ephesians 1:22-23

  • Acts 2:40-47

  • Hebrews 10:23

We believe baptism in the Holy Spirit is an experience distinct from salvation, having the purpose of filling the believer with power for witnessing. Speaking in tongues is an outward physical evidence of this experience; being filled with the Spirit is an ongoing experience of daily renewal.

  • Acts 1:4-8

  • Acts 2:1-4

  • Acts 2:38

  • Acts 10:44-46

  • Galatians 5:22-26

  • Ephesians 5:19

We believe the Bible teaches us to “pursue peace and sanctification, without which no one shall see the Lord.”

  • Hebrews 12:14

Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to the Word of God.

  • 1 Corinthians 6:11

  • Hebrews 10:10

  • Jude 1

  • 2 Thessalonians 2:14

  • 1 Peter 1:13-16

We believe physical, emotional and spiritual healing were accomplished in Christ’s atoning death, and are available to all believers today.

  • 1 Peter 2:21-24

  • James 5:13-16

  • Mark 16:15-18
